I'm flying the longest flight in the world!
dang, I'm living my dreams.
I just booked the longest flight in the world.
JFK —> Singapore. 19hrs, 15 min.
Here’s my receipt:

See that travel time?!
Doing this in September, it’s gonna be a wild trip.
Today, I’m breaking down the trip:
My plans.
How I booked this.
What I learned in the process.
Let’s get into it!
But first, I have to thank the sponsor who made this possible.
Pradeep Audho, from PKA Insurance Group. He’s an avid traveller, and a former client of mine.
He opened my eyes to the importance of disability insurance and helped me get a policy in place to protect my wife & 2 little girls! I can’t recommend him enough and thrilled to have him as a partner.
Here’s the story:
I was reading travel blogs, as I often do, and discovered this flight. I’m a man, so when I saw that there WAS a longest flight in the world, my immediate thought was, “I’m gonna do that.”
I wasn’t sure how, so, like any normal person, I posted on LinkedIn about it.

Within a few days, a sponsorship was secured and flights were booked! It’s crazy how the internet works.
So I’m booked, I’m going, by myself! Gonna be a wild adventure.
The details:
The points nerds won’t be happy with me here…
You can book this flight on Singapore Airlines via Air Canada Aeroplan. Air Canada is known for having great prices on long-haul business class flights on Star Alliance partner airlines.
However, availability is quite limited.
I needed to optimize this trip for convenience/comfort, especially because I’ll be away from my family.
So, I booked this directly with Singapore Airlines. Many of the major banks transfer to Singapore, and I had almost enough Capital One Miles to grab my business class ticket for 140,000 Miles.
By the way, this is what my seat will look like:

Funny enough, I was short about 40k points to book this, so I called my Dad to beg for points.
Capital One is GREAT for sharing points - any member can simply call and transfer points to anyone who has a Capital One card. They are by far the most liberal with this compared to other banks…
My Dad sent the points over (I promised to pay him back) and I transferred points to Singapore Airlines and booked this flight!
Booking through Singapore Airlines was seamless. I’ve heard they have excellent customer service and can’t wait to experience it for myself.
Check out this review of this guy’s experience on the same flight:

Nothing beats the rush when you see this screen^.
So you’re probably wondering how I’m going to get home.
Great question. Here’s my current itinerary.
Arrive Thursday morning at 5am in Singapore, spend the day there.
Fly to Tokyo on Japan Airlines premium economy overnight to Tokyo.
Spend the day in Tokyo, fly Delta Premium Economy back to Detroit about 4pm.
Something cool here? The Delta flight home leaves about 4pm and lands about 4pm, on the same day.
12 hour flight, 12 hour time change. Mind-boggling!
If this itinerary sounds horrible to you, you have a decent point, but I gotta get home to my family!
I’m flying almost 20,000 miles on one trip.
Aviation is simply incredible.
I’ll be sharing more about this trip as I get closer to it (going in September), but I couldn’t be more excited.
I think this will be the first sponsored trip of many…
And that’s only possible thanks to you. Thank you to all of you faithful readers. You guys open these emails FAR above the average email open rate.
Please let me know how I can serve, entertain, and assist you!
Would you ever book this flight? Let me know:)
