Go Somewhere: Volume 22
New subscribers - welcome!
I had a post on LinkedIn this week go crazy viral. So there’s lots of new people here.
This is the newsletter that teaches you how to save thousands on travel through the power of credit card points/miles.
I’ve got some amazing things to share this week.
If you give a mouse a cookie me points, I’m going to book a 5-star resort.
We went to Rome in November (points), and Bonaire in January (points), and we thought were done for a bit.
We have a business trip planned to Napa Valley, CA for the NAPA Institute Conference in July, and figured some trip would happen this fall.
Well, a trip is happening sooner than I thought.
As of this week, I am unemployed, and actively looking for a new role.
I was doing some client work, looking for a good all-inclusive option, and stumbled across a *spicy* deal.
I knew I was going to have time between jobs, so why not take a trip?
So we’re going to a 5-star all-inclusive in Cancun, completely paid for by points & miles.
It’s the Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres Resort, and it’s stunning.
Here’s the details:
—> Cash rates for the week we’re going are about $4,000.
—> It’s an all-inclusive, so *everything* is covered.
—> We transferred 180,000 miles from this credit card to Wyndham Rewards.
—> We booked 6 nights (30k per night) and paid $0 in taxes + fees.
—> They don’t charge anything extra for our 2 year old.
But do you want to know a secret?
In the world of optimizing credit card points/miles, this actually isn’t that crazy good of a deal.
But it is for us.
Why? Because we value peace, sun, and low effort vacations. That’s what an all-inclusive is.
Plus, you can’t underestimate the value of getting ALL YOUR FOOD & DRINKS PAID FOR with points/miles.
And it’s all because of the power of this card that earns 2x miles on every purchase.
We are absolutely hyped up to go.
If you’re wondering about flights - well, I couldn’t find a deal I loved using points.
Luckily, we had some money in our travel fund (you need to get one, people)!
I found nonstop flights on Frontier for under $200 roundtrip.
So that’s all we have to pay for - under $600 for a family of 3 to go to a 5-star all-inclusive in Cancun for a week.
Is that a deal you would take? I would.
And you can easily do this:
Get this card & earn the sign-up bonus.
Refer your spouse & they earn the bonus.
By then you’ll have 180,000 miles, enough for 6 nights in paradise.
Get this card to get started. Reach out on LinkedIn if you have questions.
