Huge announcement + why you need airline status (+ how to get it).
I'll pay for your TSA pre-check.
Happy Friday, folks.
Life is good.
Business is good.
The deals are flowing like milk & Delta cookies.
I’ve got a big announcement & some vital info for you about airline status.
Let’s get into it.
I want YOU🫵🏻 to hang out with me 8/19.
I’ve got a new product:
Yep, to better leverage my time, and help more of you at once (demand is high, people), I’m offering my first group session at a fraction of the price of my 1:1 consults.
For $74, you’ll get all the information I share with my 1:1 consults, but in a group setting.
Monday, August 19th, at 8pm EST.
As I write this, there are already 7 people signed up and only 5 more spots.
Act quickly.
The heart behind this: many of you want to accelerate your learning though working with me, but my 1:1 consult price doesn’t fit your budget.
I get it - this offerring is for you. I want to help you!
And to sweeten the deal:
I’ll be choosing one lucky person at the end of the call to receive FREE TSA Pre-check! Paid for by yours truly.
Don’t miss this.
And if you do? Don’t worry, it’s going to start happening monthly.
It’s not about the money, money, money, status.
If you want to be treated well, treat others well.
That generally works, but not with airlines.
They don’t care about you, sorry.
If you want to be treated well, do everything possible to get status.
If you like being shoved in the back of the plane, being the last to board, paying exorbitant fees for your bags & more, please ignore this newsletter.
Airline status can get you:
Free checked bags.
Free drinks/snacks/meals.
Complimentary upgrades to better cabins.
Priority check-in lane.
Early boarding.
Lounge access.
Private car transfer for tight layovers.
More points earned per dollar spent.
& so more more.
I know someone who has the highest status with Delta and told me he would rather fly Delta with a layover than a different airline direct.
Why?
He’s treated so well by Delta.
He’s upgraded to business class basically every flight, he trusts them to be on time, he earns huge amounts of points, he gets free checked bags for his expensive camera equipment, and much more.
And when you earn status with an airline (say, Delta), some of those benefits will carry over to other airlines in the alliance.
Delta status will improve your experience flying with all SkyTeam airlines (Air France, KLM, etc…).
Also, getting status with one airline can qualify you for status-match opportunities with others!
How to get status with an airline:
Every airline is different, but for the sake of brevity, I’ll focus on Delta.
Basically, you need to spend a bunch of money on flights.
Here’s Delta’s status chart.
MQDs are Medallion Qualification Dollars that are earned MOSTLY by buying Delta flights.
You can earn MQDs using some of Delta’s credit cards, but you only earn 1 MQD for every $10 spent on their premium (most expensive) credit card.
So you’d have to spend $350,000/year on that card to earn Diamond status.
Ouch.
(This is easier with other airline cards btw).
But if you travel a lot for work, or are booking a big family vacation, it’s not at all unrealistic to earn Gold or Platinum status.
Again, 1 MQD per $1/spent directly with Delta.
And once you’re at Platinum, life is GOOD.
Check out these benefits…
We won’t even talk about Diamond…
The Choice Benefits are pretty insane:
As you can see, airline status is tough to get, but totally worth it.
One big takeaway:
Almost every airline allows you to earn elite status without ever getting on a plane.
How?
Using their credit card.
My advice:
Relentlessly pursue status with the airline that makes the most sense for you (American for me bc of frequent travel to Dallas for work).
Achieve status.
Take advantage of lucrative status match offers.
Always fly with status.
Here’s an unbelievable description of how someone did this with 58 airlines!
Thanks for reading, everyone.
Reminder to register for my first group class on August 19th!
