How to fly to Europe for 7,700 points & what I learned talking travel for 3 days.
And a special trip giveaway you can't miss.
Happy Friday friends.
I spent the week at a conference in Pittsburgh tabling with Vocatio Travel, an amazing faith-based travel agency I’ve partnered with.
So, I basically talked about travel for 3 days straight - and I have some thoughts to share. More on that below!
I’m so thankful for all of your support - my newsletter is growing quickly, I’m closing in on 4k on LinkedIn, I’ve already booked 3 consult calls for April, and there’s a ton of momentum, thanks to YOU.
Let’s get into it.
You could fly to Europe for 7,700 points right now.
Yep, it’s true. It’s wild actually.
This is because of the power of a transfer bonus. For newbies, sometimes bank cards offer transfer bonuses to different airline or hotel programs. With these bonuses, your points can be worth 20-100% more!
Check this out.
Right now, Capital One is offering a 30% transfer bonus to Virgin Red. Virgin Red is Virgin Atlantic’s loyalty program and you can use Virgin Red points to book incredible Virgin Atlantic flight deals!
As many of you know, you can fly from certain U.S. cities to London for as low as 10,000 Virgin Atlantic miles.
With this transfer bonus from Capital One, that flight would only be 7,700 miles one-way.
So, for a price less than most domestic economy flights, you can go all the way across the pond.
Use this card to rack up miles that can be transferred at a bonus to Virgin Red, then fly this deal 10 times one way with this card’s sign-up bonus alone!

What I learned talking travel nonstop for 3 days.
Man, I love travel.
I was in charge of setting up the booth at the conference I attended, so I had the big idea to get a giant map and have people “Pin where they’ve been.”
It was a giant success. I talked to hundreds of people & many of them pinned some insane locations like Russia, The Marshall Islands, Fiji, Iran, Kazakhstan, Alaska, Tanzania, Abu Dhabi, Japan, and more.
I met a woman who teaches at a small international school in Guam and wants to organize a trip for her students to tour Japan & see the many important Catholic sites + shrines of the many Japanese martyrs.
I talked to a former LDS missionary who served two years in Guatemala and now has children serving in the Marshall Islands & South Korea!
I met a guy who’s taken over 30 cruises in his life, including one along the French Riveria on a small boat with only 200 passengers.
I connected with a priest from Tanzania who grew up at the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro & offered to take me there and help me climb it! (We’ll see if this happens).
What really hit me is how transformative so many of these people’s travel experiences were for them.
So many lives changed & perspectives shifted.
I realized that travel creates core memories. As these people look back on their 40-70 years of life, it’s the big trips they took that stick out as some of the best & most impactful experiences.
I asked a lot of older people (and people who travel all the time) for advice, and I wanted to share some highlights:
Don’t wait to travel. Do it while you’re young.
You’ll never feel like you have enough money. Do it anyway.
Don’t skimp on your trips - you’ll only be in ______ so many times, get the drink, try that local food, spend money on what you want.
Bring the people you love with you.
Don’t only stick to the destinations “everyone” goes to. You’re allowed to travel to Asia - and you will probably fall in love with it.
I had so many people tell me I HAVE to go to Japan… so that’s my new interest. Maybe next week will be “hacks” to get to Japan.
And you need to know this.
I don’t do all of this to make a quick buck, or just to help people save money.
Travel changed my life. Seeing the world as bigger than my hometown opened my mind to so much.
I want to make travel accessible to every individual. Credit card points & miles are a great tool to make that happen, but they’re not everything.
I urge you: life is short, so start planning (responsibly) TODAY to take that trip you’ve been dreaming of.
You are one of the first generations of humans that can literally go anywhere in the world. Don’t miss out.
